Stained Glass Care Instructions

Cleaning and Maintenance:

Routine Cleaning: Dust with a soft microfiber cloth.

Deep Cleaning: Gently wash with warm water and mild dish soap (e.g., Dawn) to remove grime. Do not soak the bowl.

Avoid: Never use ammonia (like Windex), vinegar, or acidic cleaners, as these destroy the lead came and solder, leading to structural damage.

Avoid Abrasives: Do not use scouring pads or steel wool, which scratch glass and remove patina (black/copper finish)

Preserving Shine and Structure:

Handwash Only: Never put stained glass in a dishwasher or microwave.

Lead Warning: Stained glass often contains lead solder. Wash hands after handling and do not use for food, as it is intended for decoration only.

Fragility: Handle with care to avoid breaking solder joints.

Wooden Bowl Care Instructions:

After use:

Hand Wash Only: Use mild dish soap and warm water to clean. Avoid harsh detergents and abrasive sponges, which can scratch the surface.

No Soaking: Never submerge the bowl in water, as it can cause the wood to warp, crack, or split.

Immediate Drying: Towel dry the bowl immediately after washing and allow it to air dry fully. Avoid storing damp bowls in closed cupboards.

Avoid Dishwashers/Microwaves: The high heat and moisture levels in dishwashers and microwaves will destroy the wood grain.

Long Term Care:

Regular Oiling: Apply a food-grade mineral oil (such as mineral oil, linseed, or tung oil) when the bowl looks dull, feels rough, or after the first wash.

Oil Application: Use a soft cloth to rub the oil over the entire bowl, including the edges, then allow it to sit for at least six hours before buffing off excess.

Beeswax Conditioner: Use a mixture of beeswax and mineral oil for a longer-lasting, protective finish that enhances the wood's shine.

Storage and Usage Tips:

Store Properly: Keep in a dry, cool area, avoiding direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.

Stain Prevention: Avoid using dark, staining foods (like beets or red wine) if the bowl is not heavily sealed.

Odor Removal: For odors or deep cleaning, use a paste of baking soda and water, or wipe with lemon and salt
